ROOTS OF REGGAE

Reggae music developed from the heart within Jamaica in the late 1960’s. Its source lie deeply in the beats from traditional island genres including ska and rocksteady. Those earlier forms supplied reggae its infectious rhythm, while incorporating elements from American R&B and Mento. Reggae became more than just a musical style; it grew a power
